What car did you own that was a classic and you gave it to the junk yard or get into an accident with ?
Buff Me asked:
you were young and stupid and didnt realize you have a valuable car.
you were young and stupid and didnt realize you have a valuable car.
I gave a junk yard a 1967 mustang because it would start. It was really nice. I was about 20 years old, it was 1990 at the time, and didnt realize i had a classic at the time. the junk yard gave me 50.00 to take it. I guess they were happy.
Now that i look back i think how dumb i was. I should have kept it.

1971 Pontiac Trans Am, 455 HO, let it get stolen because the keys froze in the locks and broke off (common winter issue in the days of aluminum keys).

Since 1979, I had a 1970 Mustang, 1968 Dart, 1968 Beetle and a 1971 Capri. Only the Capri was a lemon. I thought the Capri was sporty enough to attract women. WRONG!

Several-
1967 Ford LTD Police Interceptor, very rare undercover car, less than 300 built. I scrapped it because it needed a transmission.
1972 Nova SS- Hit a stop sign and tore up the nose, sold it for parts.
1970 Duster 340 4-speed, had a factory sunroof, was a very clean original car. I trashed it in less than 6 months, I was 16 at the time.
1969 Torino GT, very rare Talledega model, had no idea what it was until years later, stripped it for parts to rebuild a pickup truck.

I had the last of the big cars. Ford GM had already downsized, and Chrysler was going to follow them in the next model year.
I got a big red Chrysler Newport, with a St Regis package, that was huge. It matched the more expensive Chrysler Imperial. I thought of it as a big boat.
Those were the days! It was a demo…and the closest I ever came to springing for a brand new automobile.
They don't make cars like that any more!!! Now I buy a recent used Ford Tauris every few years. Not the size or luxury of my old Chrysler, but I love my Taurus!

1971 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum, with rear wing, color Plum Crazy (purple). Wrecked it 30yrs ago. Someone told me awhile back that car would be worth about $185,000 today. I think I paid maybe $5,000 for it.
Also had rare (only one I ever new of) 1967 Chevy Impala SS with 327 cu. in. 365 HP with factory 4 speed stick shift. Did engine work to it was turning out a little over 525 HP. Never beat in 1/4 mile street race. Blew engine few yrs later, sold for parts.
Man nothing sounds as good as a small block Chevy with duel cherry glass packs.
